Do You Fear?

When you walk the streets
do you fear
the dark shapes?
Do you strain to hear
running moving closer?
Do you change your gait
feign confidence,
drop your weight
ready to fight, roll
swing in to the attacker,
away – Aikido.
Are you attractive to predators,
violent offenders?
Because you are different,
or female,
an obvious gay,
wearing a rival gangs colours?
Do you fear
when you walk the streets?
